NeuroArt

Danial Arabali is an Iranian-German artist and Engineer. In one series of his ‘NeuroArt’ paintings, he takes a look at the neuronal networks from a more artistic point of view rather than realistic representations of existing structures, while in another series he attempts to apply the modern color theory concepts of expressionist German artists to visualize the beauty of neuronal connections in a more abstract manner.

Danial Arabali is an Iranian-German artist and Engineer. He has been working on a series of paintings titled “NeuroArt” since he was doing his PhD research in cognitive neuroscience at the university of Göttingen. At that time, his passion for understanding the brain higher cognitive functions, complexity of the neuronal networks and the anatomical connections underlying brain functions drove him also towards artistic creation. Although as an artist he was mainly focused on expressionist figurative and portraiture art, he was stunned by the rich visual composition of the cell culture imaging and got inspired by that. However, in the “NeuroArt” paintings, he takes a look at the neuronal networks from a more artistic point of view rather than realistic representations of existing structures.
